Part two of our Bill Haley & Friends series provides an overview of the "Cowboy" label from Philadelphia, PA, which aptly reflects its name. Between 1948-49, Bill Haley recorded some of his earliest songs here for his friend, label owner, and manager Jack Howard. Many other artists on the label shared similarities, including early cover versions of Haley"s songs. This CD offers insight into how the father of Rock & Roll music began before pioneering a new musical direction. It was even nominated for a Grammy in the "Historical Recordings" category.
